Charles Surowiec was born in Orlando, Florida. His family later relocated to Los Angeles, California, where he began school, but he spent most of his childhood in a small town in Upstate New York. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Buffalo with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He earned a master’s degree from the University of Rochester and published a thesis on chaos theory and particle detection. Charles currently resides in Upstate New York with his wife, three children, and their yellow lab, Odin. In his free time, he enjoys reading, traveling, and training for triathlons.
